I've always been a fan of Lamborghini since childhood. The first time I saw the Countach, I just fell in love with the beauty of it. A timeless car. Up to this day, the Countach remains as an icon in the supercar industry. It was a design way ahead of it's time. In 1984, my Dad had bought me a 1:24 scale, Tamiya plastic model of a Lamborghini Countach LP500s. It was my very first Lamborghini model that I assembled and detailed.
My growing collection of Lamborghini models consists of different scales and brands. My main line is 1:18. Then down to 1:43, 1:64 and other smaller scales. My goal is to achieve a 3-scale in each car variant. At least in 1:18, 1:43 and 1:64. I have also considered of adding one or two 1:12 scale models but that is tentative as I still need more space for them because I'm running out of shelves in my music/hobby room.
Anyway, my first 1:18 Lamborghini is the AUTOart Murcielago in verde ithaca. I bought it back in 2003 and I really had no intentions of collecting diecast models. I just bought that particular model car just for the sake of having one Lamborghini model displayed in my hobby room. My real collection is Star Wars toys and figures. I still do buy once in a while but not as serious as I was with it before. It was only on 2007 when I got really serious in collecting Lamborghini diecast models. Since then I have searched, hunted and looked around in both local and online shops for the models I want/wanted. Fortunately, I was able to acquire 2 of my most wanted models. They were my holy grail(s). First is the red Lamborghini 5000s by Kyosho. This model took me more than two years to find and when I finally found one in ebay, I guarded the bid and won. Although it really cost me 4 times it's original price. The second is the Diablo VT in metallic copper by AUTOart.
